Half moon rising. …
One of the things I love about this perch is watching the way the sunrise changes with the seasons and how the moonrise changes with the phases.
Here are two variants of tonight’s moonrise of the half moon. Well, this morning’s really because it’s way past my bedtime.
Half-moon 2:10A PDT 05 May 2010. The first taken with ISO 3200. The other taken with the “auto” setting and a flash for a fast shutter speed and adjusted post photo. Which is better?
I prefer the second, but the first has its charm, too.

Night coming tenderly …
I always wonder why the GGB gets all the press and photos and postcards and what-not.
I think this view is the best.
[In honor of National Poetry Month, the title of this post a snippet from a Langston Hughes poem I love: Dream Variations]

I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full.
I am sailing into the wind and the dark. But I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full.

After the storm
Cold. Wet. Yes, please. Could we have some precipitation?
A friend up the hill reported snow falling. His nibs said hail was causing havoc — and slips — on the Steps as he came home from his stint at the Academy of Sciences.
I was (relatively) snug and warm inside today. Thick sweater. Warm wrap. Fuzzy slippers. (Thermostat set at 65dF as is our wont. …)
And then the storm cleared and I took pictures …
Here’s one:

Rain coming in soon. …
The wind is kicking in from the south. White caps on the Bay. Planes landing from the north at SFO.
Rain soon! (x’d fingers)
Update: Rain was fast and furious for a bit, but now the wind and the rain are barely there. x’d fingers for more wet.
