The Friday photo challenge for the week is “turbulent.”

Cliff Way. Just south of Noyo Bay. Mendocino County. One of a handful of photos taken through the Mini’s windshield. Too wet and windy out to play with my camera outside.

What does this photo show? Planes coming in for landing from the north, which means the wind’s from the south, which means the expected storm is starting to blow in.

After the storm

Cold. Wet. Yes, please. Could we have some precipitation?

A friend up the hill reported snow falling. His nibs said hail was causing havoc — and slips — on the Steps as he came home from his stint at the Academy of Sciences.

I was (relatively) snug and warm inside today. Thick sweater. Warm wrap. Fuzzy slippers. (Thermostat set at 65dF as is our wont. …)

And then the storm cleared and I took pictures …

The wind is kicking in from the south. White caps on the Bay. Planes landing from the north at SFO.

Rain soon! (x’d fingers)

Update: Rain was fast and furious for a bit, but now the wind and the rain are barely there. x’d fingers for more wet.

Some people collect cats. I collect clouds.

A series of pictures (untweaked in the slightest) of the fog banks out the window 2 1/2 hrs ago. The clouds have since changed shape and dissipated some. The sun has been shining here throughout.

TWO banks of fog with a topper of storm clouds in the east, toward Berkeley.

Weird.
